If We Agree that I Will Be Your Lawyer

  • If your studio is incorporated, I’ll ask you to email me its certificate of incorporation. Most of my clients are, or are about to be, incorporated
  • You will need to send me a copy of government issued photo ID (but not health cards) to confirm who you are
  • I will prepare a short engagement agreement for you to sign
  • If you are a sole proprietor, then you will be my client
  • If your incorporated, the corporation will be my client, not you personally, its founders, shareholders, officers or directors
  • If you have multiple founders, all founders will need to sign the engagement agreement to  confirm which of you is authorized to give me direction
  • Once the engagement agreement is signed, I can begin providing legal services
